Reading!

So i just recently got into reading. The reason because my reading teacher has us reading every night except weekends and holidays, inless we want extra credit. So I have been reading currently The Notebook. I love it so far its just I dont seem to be able to enjoy it the way I want to because I feel like I have to remember every part of it because after I have to write a summary and a connection about it. I feel like I cant enjoy the book. Another thing I am having trouble with is finding people to connect book wise with that dont read vampire books. I watched the first movie Twilight but I dont really like vampire fantacy or warewolf movies or books. I havent been able to find someone that I can review other books with. Since im new to the whole "reading" thing the only kind of books that I seem to really like are Nicholas Sparks books. I like romance books. Im trying to branch out of that but I dont think i reallly like other books with sounds horrible to say. Can anyone help with these problems? Advice? COMMENT!

  1. im a huge fan of reading different genres. if you want to steer away from nicholas sparks but still get a fun lil romance, then try the books "Love on the Lifts" "A Year in Europe" "Thrill Ride" - they're all by rachael hawthorne and they're are alot of books like them by the same publisher-so if you want more titles i can get them for you! i havn't found one of these books that i don't love that are in this little series (its not a series like harry potter, its just very similarly themed books)

  2. I think you'll find that if you allow yourself to enjoy reading the book without disruptions you will be able to write a better summary after reading the whole book, as you would have found a "connection to it" my recommendations for romance books would be, in the young adult genre, "Anna And The French Kiss" by Stephanie Perkins, which is a fun light, "fluffy" read, or for a more complex, adult interesting read " The Time Traveller's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger, which is a timeless romance which i have read numerous times and cried.
